Who are They? Yes, Them!

As you start your leadership journey get settled on how you’re going to lead.  Where are you coming from?  Where is your heart? How are you going to interact?

From my years of experience, leading from your heart is the BEST way to lead.  Give of yourself, your time, your energy and your love.  Share your knowledge, share your expertise, share your experience in a way that inspires, helps and guides.

Focusing on the needs of your team WILL result in a happier environment, more engaged team and stellar productivity.  Your team will respond by giving you their best.

IT’S ALL ABOUT THEM!!

Having a heart to serve, invites openness and exploration.  Start with “How can I help you today” OR “How can I be of service today”

SERVE:
Be of use in achieving
Perform duties or service for another person or organization

Serving is a VERB. ACTS of service. Action is required to serve.  Your first action is a discussion with your team to get clarity on their needs. Subsequent actions; brainstorming, observing, researching; result in understanding how you can ensure those needs are met.

Stop a minute and think about how you felt the last time a manager/leader expressed an interest in helping you do your job.  I’m hoping you’ve had that experience but maybe not!  If you have, it feels good doesn’t it?! You don’t feel alone and it’s good to know you have someone in your corner that cares about you.  Someone that is interested in your needs. Someone that sees you, hears you and understands you.  Someone that wants you to succeed and is willing to do what it takes to ensure that happens.

Needs change so frequent check ins are necessary to keep a pulse on where to focus your time and energy.  Once your team believes you’re there to help them they will become more comfortable with sharing what they need.  You’ll have them coming to you and asking for help instead of you going to them and asking what they need.

Give of yourself and serve your team.  You’ll be delighted, encouraged and moved by their response.

How can I serve you today?

Remember, CARING IS YOUR SUPERPOWER!
