Leadership is SIMPLE!
Leadership is SIMPLE!
Not Easy…Simple
More often than not new managers think their life has just become really complicated. So much pressure, so many balls to keep in the air, so much they don’t know, so much, so much.
Leadership is simple. Yes, simple! I know many will disagree, some will be cautiously optimistic that it really is simple, and others will emphatically believe and shout from the rooftops, “I knew it!”
Breaking it down, your job as a leader is to provide the systems, processes, direction, feedback and praise that clearly lets your team know you appreciate them, believe in them and are there for them.
In my online course (due out Mar 6,2019) I teach the 4 pillars of People Gardening. (Leadership Simplified)
CARE, SUPPORT, NURTURE and RECOGNIZE
When you focus on these 4 areas your team has the freedom to do their job and do it well. Simple.
There is no confusion and with CLARITY comes increased productivity, engagement and happiness. Simple
People Gardeners know and accept that each person is unique. They understand that individual expectations, NOT COMPARISONS, are needed to help someone achieve their potential. Simple
People Gardeners are focused on understanding the needs of their people. Simple
People Gardeners encourage growth and don’t hinder it. Simple
People Gardeners applaud and nurture the individual, quirks and all. Simple
People Gardeners are okay with expecting different outcomes from different people. Simple
Are you getting the picture yet? Leadership is SIMPLE!
CARING IS YOUR SUPERPOWER
When you focus your time and energy on helping each person by removing roadblocks, clarifying expectations, streamlining systems, and modifying training, they will perform beyond anything you could imagine.
They now have the freedom to simply focus on their tasks without frustration and confusion. Simple
Leadership the PEOPLE GARDENER way is SIMPLE.
Care, Support, Nurture and Recognize your team and you will create a spectacular People Garden that other departments will envy.
The genius at the top doesn’t make the team look good.
A good team makes the person at the top look like a genius
